Biography & Academic Leadership
Graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Ceramics in 1992, completing her MA in 1997 and Ph.D. in 2009. Lived in Milan between 1999 and 2003, continuing artistic and academic research in Gioella Suardi's studio in Bergamo, Italy.
Başkaya has held 9 solo exhibitions and received 15 national and international awards. She has directed experimental ceramic workshops globally including Raku, Paper Kiln, and Egyptian Paste techniques.
She serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Ceramic Society, art editor of Seramik Türkiye Magazine, founder member of the International Ceramic Artist Association in China, and member of the prestigious International Academy of Ceramics (IAC – Geneva, Switzerland / UNESCO).

- International Macsabal Wood Firing Symposium: General Coordinator for symposium gatherings and exhibitions across Korea, China, and Turkey.
